About Our Practice
About Dr. Perih
An honors graduate with a BS in Biology from the University of Scranton , Dr. Perih is a native of Scranton . She earned her doctorate in Dental Surgery and her masters of Science degree in facial growth from Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry. She received a graduate degree in orthodontics from the University of Pennsylvania . She is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontists.
Dr. Perih has operated a private practice since 1985. After teaching on the faculty at Case Western Reserve University , Dr. Perih served as Clinical Director for the department of Orthodontics at the University of Pennsylvania . She currently holds a faculty position there as Assistant Clinical Professor. The recipient of a number of academic awards and research grants, Dr. Perih has authored original papers and abstracts for publication. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontics and the Pennsylvania Dental Association.
Dr. Perih, married to Dr. James Stefanelli, has four children, Michael, Michelle, Julia and Peter. With the loss of their daughter, Simone, Dr. Perih and her husband are very involved with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. She is also involved with local civic activities and sponsors patient involvement in the arts, cultural and sports activities.
In June 2010, Dr. Perih was honored as one of the Top 25 Business Women in Northeastern Pennsylvania by NAWBO. Her advice to women entering the business world, "Follow your dreams and take risks that are good for your personality type and success will follow. " Dr. Perih's main objective is for her patients to leave her office feeling confident with a great looking smile.

Dr. Perih combines her expertise in orthodontics, orthopedics, facial growth and aging with her personal mission to enhance your facial appearance, smile and oral health. She and her staff are committed to providing you with personal, quality care in a comfortable and private setting. They will educate you on the most current techniques for corrective and preventive orthodontic care and will work to make sure every visit is a fruitful one.
Our Office
For the past 18 years, our office has been conveniently located on the 9th floor in Suite 901 of the PNC Bank Towers at 321 Spruce Street in downtown Scranton. Our office consists of 5 private operatories, an X-ray room, business office, confidential consultation room, large air-conditioned waiting room, and a pleasant reception area. In our kids corner we have added 2 WII systems for your convenience. Please stop at the front desk to pick out your favorite games.
Our office utilizes a Kodak 9000 3D Extraoral Imaging System (lowest transmitted radiation) and a sterilization center using both chemical and heat sterilization. We use a high-tech curing system for quick and easy bonding. We also use state of the art computers and printers for high quality photos and digital imaging.
In an effort to make our office a little greener, we are going PAPERLESS! You may notice that our charts are disappearing. That's because we are scanning all our documents and outside x-rays directly into our patients charts. This eliminates the need for seperate paper charts.
